A organização do Eisner Awards, a mais importante premiação da indústria norte-americana de quadrinhos, divulgou na última sexta, 25, os vencedores da edição deste ano. A paulistana Bilquis Evely ganhou em uma das categorias mais importantes: de melhor ilustradora, ela mini “Helen de Wyndhorn” (que acaba de sair no Brasil, em volume único, pela editora Suma).

A paulistana Bilquis nasceu em 1990. Começou sua carreira em 2009, trabalhando para o mercado brasileiro, mas 2012 ilustra para editoras norte-americanas. Suas páginas são detalhadas e lindas, e felizmente trabalhos seus já foram publicados por aqui, como “Supergirl: Mulher do Amanhã” (que é a base do filme da personagem que será lançado ano que vem) e “O Universo de Sandman: o Sonhar”.

A obra mais premiada foi nesta edição do Eisner Awards foi a graphic novel “Uma História de Amor no Ano Novo Lunar”, de Gene Luen Yang e LeUyen Pham, que felizmente já saiu no Brasil (cortesia da editora Alt). Ela venceu em três categorias: melhor roteirista (para Gene Luen Yang), publicação para adolescentes e graphic álbum inédita.

Outro destaque vai entre os premiados para Joe Sacco, maior nome de jornalismo em quadrinhos do mundo. Ele venceu na categoria de melhor edição única por “The War on Gaza”, que a Quadrinhos na Cia. publicou aqui como “Guerra em Gaza”, e ainda foi incluído no Hall da Fama.
